Appendix B — Take-Down Checklist

Parent article: VENTMEDiC® Hardware User Manual

This checklist provides a complete, summarized sequence of all steps required to safely shut down, disconnect, and pack down the VENTMEDiC® system for transport after job completion. For deployment setup, refer to Appendix A — Deployment Setup Checklist.

ℹ️ IMPORTANT: Perform all steps in the order listed. Do not skip steps or reorder the sequence — incorrect disassembly order may result in pressurized gas release or equipment damage.

📱 Phase 1: End the Job in the Web App

  • Verify all data has been saved or is uploading via the Web App. (Sec. 7.1)
  • Confirm the job is still active on the Live Device page. (Sec. 7.1)

⚠️ Do not click End Job until VENT mode is confirmed and pressure is relieved in the next phase.

🛑 Phase 2: Safe Venting and Power Down

  • Press the VENT button on the DTU front panel; confirm LED indicates VENT mode is active. (Sec. 7.2)
  • Wait for system pressure to return to atmospheric (~100 kPa A). (Sec. 7.2)
  • Close upstream isolation valve at the vent source, if present. (Sec. 7.2)
  • In the Web App, click End Job (red square icon). Confirm the mode returns to 'Start Job'. (Sec. 7.2)
  • Turn the Power Switch to the OFF position. (Sec. 7.2)
  • Wait 30 seconds for full de-energization before disconnecting any cables. (Sec. 7.2)
  • Disconnect external battery or charger if connected. (Sec. 7.2)

🔧 Phase 3: Disconnecting Gas and Electrical Connections

  • Turn Wireless Lockout Key Switch to OFF before disconnecting gas lines. (Sec. 7.3)
  • Disconnect gas inlet hose from Measurement Unit Inlet and from vent source; cap all open lines. (Sec. 7.3)
  • Disconnect outlet hose from Measurement Unit Outlet and from discharge point; cap all open lines. (Sec. 7.3)
  • Remove all electrical/signal cables (USB-C, Ethernet, external battery) from DTU. (Sec. 7.3)
  • Reinstall protective caps on all d-MRV ports immediately. (Sec. 7.3)

⚠️ WARNING: Unit weighs 73 kg — a two-person lift or mechanical assistance is recommended for loading.

📦 Phase 4: Cable, Hose, Antenna, and Solar Panel Stowage

  • Coil all electrical cables neatly; secure to the cart frame or designated storage points. (Sec. 7.4)
  • Spool instrumentation hoses into storage compartment — avoid kinks and tight bends. (Sec. 7.4)
  • Confirm no cables or hoses are loose where they could be damaged during transport. (Sec. 7.4)
  • Fold antenna to stowed position; ensure mast and cable are not bent or under tension. (Sec. 7.5)
  • Tilt solar panel back to transport position. (Sec. 7.5)
  • Install and lock all cotter pins so the solar panel cannot move during transport. (Sec. 7.5)

🚚 Phase 5: Final Inspection and Securing for Transport

  • Secure the d-MRV drawer with the locking pin. (Sec. 7.6)
  • Verify all enclosure doors are closed and latched. (Sec. 7.6)
  • Check all locking pins and fasteners on the cart and d-MRV are in place and secure. (Sec. 7.6)
  • Confirm all ports have protective caps installed. (Sec. 7.6)
  • Confirm no tools or loose components are left on the unit. (Sec. 7.6)
  • Visually inspect the assembly — confirm stable and ready for transport. (Sec. 7.6)

⚠️ WARNING: Unit weighs 73 kg — a two-person lift or mechanical assistance is recommended for loading.
