ℹ️ IMPORTANT: This checklist is a summary only. Always refer to the full manual sections for detailed procedures, safety warnings, and specifications before performing any step for the first time.
🏢 Phase 1: Pre-Deployment — Before Leaving the Shop
- Charge the battery fully (5–10 hours). Confirm charger indicator turns green. (Sec. 5.5.3)
- Inspect all enclosure doors, seals, and gaskets for visible damage. (Sec. 5.3.2)
- Verify all Amphenol dust caps are in place on all DTU ports. (Sec. 5.3.2)
- Confirm power switch is in the OFF position. (Sec. 5.3.2)
- Confirm antenna is stowed and secured for transport. (Sec. 5.3.2)
- Check all pins and locking hardware are engaged. (Sec. 5.3.2)
📍 Phase 2: Site Preparation
- Conduct full site hazard assessment before unloading. (Sec. 5.1)
- Confirm site has firm, level surface and clear sky access for solar panel. (Sec. 5.2)
- Position cart at least 10 feet (3 m) from wellhead. (Sec. 5.4)
- Orient cart so solar panel faces south at ~45° tilt. (Sec. 5.2)
⚠️ WARNING: Unit weighs 73 kg — a two-person lift or mechanical assistance is recommended.
🔌 Phase 3: Electrical Connections (Power Switch OFF)
- Extend and lock solar panel; connect solar cable to DTU solar input port. (Sec. 5.5.1)
- Extend and lock antenna; connect antenna cable to DTU antenna port. (Sec. 5.5.2)
- Connect external battery if required for extended runtime. (Sec. 5.5.4)
- Connect Ethernet cable if Starlink or site network is in use. (Sec. 5.5.5)
🛑 DO NOT connect any gas lines at this stage — gas connections are made after power-up and VENT mode confirmation.
🔋 Phase 4: Power Up and System Check
- Turn Power Switch ON. Confirm all three LED buttons blink twice simultaneously. (Sec. 6.2.2)
- Confirm VENT mode is active on the DTU front panel. (Sec. 6.2.3)
🛑 STOP — Do not proceed to gas connections until VENT mode is confirmed on the DTU front panel.
💧 Phase 5: Gas Plumbing Connections (Unit ON — VENT Mode Confirmed)
- Turn Wireless Lockout Key Switch to OFF for safety during gas connection. (Sec. 6.3)
- Confirm venting source is in a stabilized flowing state. (Sec. 6.3.1)
- Remove protective cap from Inlet (1/2″ NPT); connect inlet hose from vent source. (Sec. 6.3.1)
- Remove protective cap from Outlet (1/2″ NPT); connect outlet hose to discharge point. (Sec. 6.3.2)
- Tighten all fittings; verify hose routing does not introduce trip hazards. (Sec. 6.3.2)
- Perform leak check using approved method (soap solution or gas detector). (Sec. 6.3.3)
- Correct any leaks; re-verify all connections before proceeding. (Sec. 6.3.3)
- Return Wireless Lockout Key Switch to ON (unless in a radio-sensitive area). (Sec. 6.3.3)
📱 Phase 6: Web App — System Verification and Job Start
- Ensure Wireless Lockout Key Switch: ON (normal operations) or OFF (radio-sensitive areas).
- Log in to Web App; confirm device shows as Online (Waiting). (Sec. 6.4.1)
- Check battery level and signal strength in Web App. (Sec. 6.4.1)
- Open Live Device page; click Start Job. (Sec. 6.4.2)
- Enter Job Information: Client, Well Name, Test Type, Surf Loc, Bot Loc, License/API. (Sec. 6.4.2)
- Set Configuration: Max Pressure, Stabilized Pressure range, Flow Alarms, Sample Rate. (Sec. 6.4.2)
- Confirm job is running and live data appears in Web App. (Sec. 6.4.2)
📈 Phase 7: Active Measurement
- Switch to BUILD or FLOW mode per test protocol requirements. (Sec. 6.5)
- Monitor live data in Web App: flow rate, pressure, methane %, battery level. (Sec. 6.5.2)
- Add field notes/photos via Web App or Mobile App comment section. (Sec. 6.5.2)
- At each site visit: check connections, solar panel, antenna, and enclosure latches. (Sec. 6.5.2)
💡 NOTE: This checklist may be printed and laminated for use as a field reference card. Store a copy with the VENTMEDiC® unit for easy access by all technicians.
