7. Post-Job Disassembly and Packing

The following procedure describes how to safely shut down, disconnect, and prepare the VENTMEDiC® system for transport after job completion. Perform all steps in the order given.

7.1 End the Job in the Web App

  1. Verify all live measurements and required data have been saved to the SD Card or are uploading via the Web App. If no cellular connection was available or was locked out, the data from the SD Card should be uploaded to the Web App. Refer to the Software and Application Manual for detailed instructions on how to retrieve and upload the data using the USB port found on the DTU.
  2. In the Web App, confirm the job is still active on the Live Device page.
  3. Do not click End Job until VENT mode and pressure relief are confirmed in the following steps.

7.2 Powering Down

  1. If an upstream isolation valve is installed at the vent source, close this valve if possible.
  2. Using the DTU front panel, press the VENT button and confirm the LED indication to place VENTMEDiC® into VENT mode.
  3. Allow system pressure to vent down and stabilize at or near atmospheric pressure (0 kPa A).
  4. In the Web App, click the End Job button (red square icon) on the Live Device page. The mode indicator returns to 'Start Job', confirming the job has ended.
  5. Turn the Power Switch on the DTU to the OFF position.
  6. Wait 30 seconds for the system to fully de-energize before disconnecting any cables.
  7. If an external battery or charger is connected, disconnect it once the unit has fully powered down.

 

7.3 Disconnecting Gas and Electrical Connections

WARNING: Before disconnecting any gas lines, confirm the system is fully depressurized and the power switch is in the OFF position.

NOTE: As an added safety measure during gas disconnection, the Wireless Lockout Key Switch should be in the OFF position to prevent any accidental remote activation of BUILD or FLOW mode while lines are open. Ensure the key switch is returned to the ON position if the unit is being redeployed to a new site, or leave it OFF until wireless transmission is required.

  1. Once the system is confirmed depressurized, disconnect the gas inlet hose from the Measurement Unit Inlet and from the vent source. Cap or plug all open lines immediately.
  2. Disconnect the outlet hose from the Measurement Unit Outlet and from the discharge point. Cap all open lines.
  3. Remove any connected electrical or signal cables (USB-C, Ethernet, external battery) from the DTU.
  4. Immediately reinstall protective caps on all DTU ports and hoses.

WARNING: The unit weighs approximately 73 kg (161 lbs). Proper lifting technique is essential — a two-person lift or mechanical assistance is recommended.

7.4 Cable and Hose Management

  1. Coil all electrical cables neatly and secure them to the frame or designated storage points on the cart.
  2. Spool instrumentation hoses into their storage compartment, avoiding tight bends, kinks, or crushing.
  3. Confirm no cables or hoses are left loose where they could be damaged during transport.

7.5 Antenna and Solar Panel Stowage

  1. Fold the antenna down into its stowed position, ensuring the mast and cable are not bent, pinched, or under tension.
  2. Tilt the solar panel back to the designated transport position.
  3. Install and lock all cotter pins or other locking hardware so the panel cannot move during transport.

7.6 Final Inspection Before Transport

  1. Secure the d-MRV drawer with the locking pin to prevent movement during transport.
  2. Verify all enclosure doors are closed and latched.
  3. Check that all locking pins and fasteners on the cart and d-MRV are in place and secure.
  4. Confirm all ports have protective caps installed and no tools or loose components are left on the unit.
  5. Visually inspect the assembly to ensure it is stable and ready to be lifted, moved, or loaded.

NOTE: After completing these steps, the VENTMEDiC® system is safely shut down, protected against damage, and ready for transport to the next site or storage location.
