2. Safety Information
Safe operation of the VENTMEDiC® system requires strict adherence to the safety practices outlined in this manual and to all site-specific safety procedures. Failure to follow these instructions may result in equipment damage, inaccurate measurements, personal injury, or environmental harm.
Qualified Personnel Only
The VENTMEDiC® system must be installed, operated, and serviced only by trained and authorized personnel who are familiar with oil and gas site operations, pressurized gas systems, and applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Appropriate PPE (such as safety glasses, gloves, safety footwear, flame-resistant clothing, and hard hat) must be worn at all times when working around the VENTMEDiC® system and associated equipment, in accordance with site and company policies.
Pressurized Gas and Venting
Methane is a flammable gas under pressure. Always verify that the system is in the correct mode (e.g., VENT mode) and that pressure has been safely relieved before connecting or disconnecting any gas lines, opening enclosures, or performing maintenance. Never open the system to a pressurized, non-flowing source.
Electrical and Environmental Hazards
Inspect electrical connections, cables, and enclosures for damage before use. Do not operate the VENTMEDiC® system in environments outside the specified temperature, humidity, or ingress protection ratings. Avoid exposure to standing water, corrosive atmospheres, or other conditions that could compromise insulation, seals, or structural integrity.
Use of Approved Parts and Accessories
Only VENTMEDiC®-approved parts, accessories, and replacement components may be used with the system. Use of non-approved items may impair safety, affect measurement accuracy, void warranties, and increase the risk of equipment failure.
Lockout, Tagout, and Site Procedures
Follow all applicable lockout/tagout procedures, gas-testing requirements, and hot-work or confined-space rules defined by the site operator and relevant regulations before working on or near the VENTMEDiC® system.
Emergency Response
In the event of suspected gas leakage, unusual odours, abnormal noises, visible damage, or malfunction, immediately stop the measurement, move to a safe location, and follow site emergency procedures. Do not attempt unauthorized repairs; contact VENTMEDiC® technical support or qualified service personnel.
